I’m Kristin Pumphrey Founder and Creative Director of Gilchrist + Stone. For many years, I’ve loved candles: the flicker of the flame, luxurious scent, and ambiance all created by the flame of a candle.  But over the years buying luxury candles, I was shocked at the high prices—$150+ for 8 ounces? I had questions.

So, after surviving cancer twice and deciding to move on from a demanding corporate career, I went on a mission to uncover the secrets behind the world’s most luxurious candles: the rare waxes, fragrance loads, curing techniques, burn optimization that earned the retail price of up to $150 per 8 oz candle (many are priced at even more). You name it, I learned it. And I did what they don’t want you to do: I made the candle they’re charging triple for, creating products that are 1. luxury with luxury scents, 2. safe for your air and skin, and 3. all at a reasonable price.

Gilchrist + Stone is my rebellion against overpriced luxury:  creating a candle that elevates your home into pure luxury and makes it smell like a 5-star hotel, is certified-safe, and all at a fraction of the price.
